[It's not surprising that Mondo's out training on the outskirts of the city. What is surprising is that he isn't fighting his Pokémon today. He's ditched the usual coat today and if one looks closely, they can see a massive bruise over his shoulders and leading down toward his back. That might be from fighting his Pokémon. Maybe. But that's not what he's doing today - today he's got his Pokémon out, situated in teams of two facing off against each other.]

Alright, we're gonna practice double battling today. Ryder! Quit trying to punch Pierce, he's your partner!

[The Scrafty shoots him a dirty look, but she knocks it off. At least until Mondo's back is turned, then she socks the Lucario in the gut and knocks him over.]

Lex, Tory! If I see the two of you biting at each other again I swear I'm gonna stick you in the fucking PC and never let you see the light of day again! You got that?

[The Sharpedo and Deino pull faces once his back is turned, but at least they seem to be listening.]

Alright, on my mark... go!

there are some pretty awesome sights here, yeah!
from the sounds of it, you might like cycling road over here in kanto.
i think they allow motorcycles in addition to regular bikes, if some of the native trainers there were any indication.

but in addition to that, if you haven't seen them already there are the ruins of alph and sprout tower in violet city. (the only good things in violet city, tbh)
and then the two towers in ecruteak are pretty cool too, especially if you are into ghosts and legends.
what else... oh! the safari zone is pretty cool! that's over in cianwood.
and the dragon's den in blackthron if you are into dragons.
really, it just depends on your interests! there are a lot of awesome things here!

(also i think there might be a sauna in blackthron? there's a hot springs, at least. those are sort of close enough to the same thing, right?)

[Oh wow, that's a lot of good information! Mondo takes a moment to write it all down (on paper this time so he won't accidentally spam the network again) and then he responds.]

holy shit it sounds like there's a lot more to do here than i first thought!
i'm in violet right now; is sprout tower really interesting?
it just looked like a place where they worshiped bellsprouts or something so i didn't check it out.

[WELL HEY NEW FRIEND Jin's also wearing his fair share of bruises, but he seems to have gotten the bloodstains removed and the rips repaired from his usual outfit (which is good because the alternative is a banana hammock and no one wants to see that), and he's gonna just be perched on a low-hanging branch over head, grinning like Peter Pan. Did he sneak up on you? Because he and his shinobro have been camped out on the outskirts of town the whole time they've been here.]

Oowada it was? So yer team's a crew o' real go-getters, I see!

[Considering how his Pokémon are still staring at him and awaiting orders, Mondo's not overly pleased with them.]

[Someone else is having difficulty training his Pokemon too.

Rude's getting a bit irritated at his Rocket starters. He can't release them anywhere near normal trainers without one of them acting out. It's starting to seriously hamper him everytime he takes them for training, which is why he's decided to try his luck outside the city.

It's only a matter of time before he hears the noise of a double battle. Having finished off a couple of wild Pokemon, he's going to give his guys a rest and check out the source of the commotion.

...huh. It's Oowada. Rude raises an eyebrow at that bruise, but opts to stay quiet and watch the match first.

[The match goes about as well as expected.

Ryder, Mondo's starter, turns on her partner halfway through the fight and easily finishes off the Lucario with a well-placed Hi Jump Kick. She then proceeds to beat the other two into submission on her own. Mondo groans and rests his head in his hands.]

You're not supposed to take 'em all out! Just the other two! You're hopeless!

[Ryder shrugs and turns her attention to Mondo's Houndoom and Murkrow, who were supposed to fight the victors. Maybe if Mondo's Pokémon weren't all weak to Fighting-type moves they'd stand a chance of beating their crazy, battle-obsessed partner, but Ryder takes both of them out in one hit apiece as well. Mondo just groans loudly.]

Fucking hopeless, I swear to god...

[Ryder turns then, a maniacal glint in her eye. Mondo recognizes that look and hits the deck before she can hit him with the same move. She sails overhead and promptly hits a tree. Mondo returns her before she can get up.]

Fuck...

[He winces a bit and rubs at his back, but at least she didn't land any more hits.]

[ Oh, guess who else was out training? Both herself and her Pokemon, but she's just about done for the day and is just tugging on her khaki jacket when she notices Mondo up ahead in her path. She walks a bit closer to the training spectacle while her Axew and Luxio move a bit closer.

She's only vaguely heard about double battles, but hasn't participated in them. Perhaps the guy will be kind enough to let her watch what he's doing? While patting her face dry of some sweat with a towel that was slung on her shoulder, yes. ]

[Mondo doesn't notice Mikasa at first, but his Pokémon sure do. Ryder is quick to dispatch both the Sharpedo and the Deino, then turns on her partner, Lucario. Mondo groans, slamming a hand to his head in frustration.]

That's not how you--

[He notices that Ryder is staring at something and turns around to finally see Mikasa. Mondo flushes immediately.]

Ah, hey. Sorry, I didn't see you there.

That's a pretty long list. Kind of hard core.

Also you don't have anything on there about enjoying the summer weather or going to the beach.

Or finding the best food to eat. [Priorities. Asahina has them.]

[Get stronger...huh... Chihiro actually wavers over saying something about this for a long moment or two. But for now he leaves it, since Mondo didn't mean to post that list in the first place.]

I'd like to get a computer...or a few of them. I'd like to see what I could do with the technology here... Though, I'm not sure if that fits Oowada-kun's interests, so much.

I really want to go to Goldenrod soon, though, and I read that Olivine is pretty, since it's right by the sea.

[And guess who just happens to stumble upon this impending disaster? That's right, this guy! And his Hitmonlee, too. Yusuke wasn't exactly planning on crashing Mondo's training session - in fact, he was actually heading out into the wilderness to do some training himself, and is decked out in the sweats and t-shirt to prove it. It just sort of happens, and while he normally would've just walked on by (because it's not like he's never run into someone doin' their own thing on his way out of town before), the sight of a freakishly tall muscular dude with a ridiculous orange pompadour is enough to stop him dead in his tracks. It's a good thing Mondo's back is turned when Yusuke arrives on the scene, because the look on his face when, for a whole heart-stopping five seconds, he thinks his best friend managed to sneak into Johto without him knowing can only be described as pure, unadulterated shock.

Of course, it isn't long after that initial "holy shit" reaction that he realizes that this isn't actually Kuwabara he's looking at: the dude's hair is way crazier than Kuwabara's, for one thing, and for another, his voice isn't nearly as screechy. Besides, who is he kidding? As if Kuwabara's smart enough to sneak all the way here to Violet. That doofus wouldn't even be able to sneak his way through a room full of teddy bear fluff.

Anyway, now that he's duly been freaked out by some random stranger, Yusuke decides to resume his trek out into the woods! ... or at least, that was the plan, anyway. What he actually ends up doing is staying put and watching Mondo try to control his Pokemon, because as weird as it feels to just... suddenly show up and start creepin' on some other person's training, he's kind of interested in seeing if this "double battling" thing What's-His-Face was yelling about'll actually pan out. If it does, he'll take some mental notes and try it out for himself later; if not, hey, at least it'll be fun to watch the whole thing go all to hell. HEH HEH HEH.

Between himself and his Hitmonlee, Yusuke is the only one amused by the spectacle Mondo and his Pokemon are creating. His Hitmonlee, Kosugi, is more unimpressed by it than anything else, and looks it, too, with his folded arms and knitted brow. He seems to be judging Ryder in particular pretty hard - if Ryder happens to look over in their direction, she will probably notice right away that she's getting the stank eye. :| NOT IMPRESSED WITH YOUR SHIT, RYDER. Whatcha gonna do about it?]

[Ryder has always been an incredibly careful Pokémon and it doesn't take her long to notice the intruders. While Mondo is attempting to assess the damage his starter has caused, she studies them carefully, returning that glare for a moment before suddenly launching herself at the Hitmonlee.]

Oh for fuck's sake--!

[Mondo is faster though, and he manages to return Ryder to her Pokéball before she can manage to land a Crunch attack (look, she's really bad with type advantages and disadvantages) on the Hitmonlee. That does mean that Mondo's now face to face with Yusuke and he immediately looks quite a bit embarrassed.]

Shit, you saw that? Sorry, she's kinda crazy.
